Romance isn't directly linked to relationships, though. One can be romantic and still sleep around town every night.

The thing about being open is, it does not require one to truly have an emotional connection. I'm open with my therapist, but that doesn't mean I want to be romantic. It's about what you hope to achieve. Romance is kind of a catch all term for saying "But, I'm nice." without having to truly be nice.
