In the Netherlands the law is very awkward in this regard. A woman of 16 is allowed to sleep with a man of any age as long as both she and her parents consent to it and are not being put under any kind of pressure. Imagine your daughter of 16 walking up to you, asking your permission to have sex with a 32 year old man, because "I love him and he's the only one who gets me!"

@sanfi where are the parents in the particular sections of the WvS then? I recall a discussion with a student on the topic who claimed 16 was legal, I said 18, then I looked it up, but don't recall reading about parents' consent in the relevant WvS sections back then.
