Well JRPG's are very slow paced so it is not that hard to get started with them. Plus that can change. :P

I want to guess that JRPG is Japanese role playing games. Just what comes to mind. Hard for me to give an example since the ones I play are not the most popular titles but do have a fanbase, other than to say some of the Final Fantasy games.

I suppose a dating sim could be a form of RPG. I'm thinking more along the lines of Kingdom Hearts and stuff...I play .hack//IMOQ, Radiata Stories, and tried playing Dark Cloud 1 and 2 though I didn't get far.

KitsuneRena is correct about JRPG's they are japanese role playing games. Sorry I didnt explain it when I posted it first. Anyway, to be more specific they are usually turn based strategy games that you control a band of characters through a storyline. Overtime you can level up character by beating enemies and bosses. This usually does not require much fast hand movement but more on startegy and thinking. Good examples like what have been said are Dark Cloud, Final Fantasy, Tales of series, Star Ocean, and a lot more. Dating Sims or just VN's (visual novels) are a different story. The shorthand explanation is that they are text based games with pictures of characters that run through a set of dialogue that the chracter goes through. I could explain more but not sure if you want to read more. :D
KitsuneRena: What stopped you playing Dark Cloud 1 + 2?

Dark Cloud 1, I really forget because I think it had something to do with some event after I got the cat girl in my party or something with the map. It's been a long time. Dark Cloud 2, I probably got distracted by other stuff and haven't gotten around to it since. I know I changed to a green outfit and had the girl in my party, was taking pictures and fought the elephant but I forget after that, really liked the characters more in DC2 though. ~.~;;; I haven't played some of my RPGs in years because of school.

Seems you never really got far in Dark Cloud 1. The thing that really got me mad about that first game is that when your weapon broke you lost it forever. There was no way to fix it at that point. As for the second game seems you got farther. I do agree with you that the characters were more likeable than the first one. I loved Dark Cloud 2 by heart. It is one of the few games that really got me exited by the JRPG realm since it did so well in the way you can create your own towns and weapons plus when your weapons broke you can still fix them. Lastly, I know that feeling about school. The most I ever did on gaming was during my summer vacation when there was not much things going on.
