It's a math pun on orthogonal thinking. People often think in binary. For example: redpill vs bluepill. But the world isn't a simplistic 2D linear line problem. The world involves many nuances that are not easily identifiable under simplistic 0 and 1 thinking. To think orthogonal is to think outside the box. Leave the basic 2D line thinking. A math analogy on critical thinking.
