Coronavirus. Your thoughts? [Serious and Non-Serious]

i wouldn't be surprised if china hid did that. all the death toll information we get are from hospitals or maybe mortuaries (which are mostly in hospitals anyway) it wouldn't be hard for the chinese government to send an order not to make the deaths or infected public. and everyone would obey cuz else they'd lose their jobs. and i dont think theres any citizens sitting behind the hospital counting bodies.. but if people were to drop like flies and there'd be corpses on the streets the internet would know. unfortunately everyone rushes to a hospital in emergency situations. so there's no corpses (or not a lot) on the streets. if we were to ask all the cremation houses how many corpses they burned in the past month, we'd get pretty big numbers. Unfortunately not everyone dies from corona, aand not everyone decides to grill their relatives. (on the other hand cremation is way cheaper.)

i can't believe that italy is leading with 14k deaths, and spain with 11k. i find it funny cuz spain was boasting to have the best healthcare system in the world. (maybe the best to get rid of you lol)

I'm sure you all heard it before, but since I work for a hospital, I'm gonna give everyone some useful information about Covid19. 1. The reason for the quarantine is to slow the spread of the virus. There aren't enough hospital beds and respirators to help people if we don't slow down the speed that it's spreading. They've upped the production of important meds and equipment, but if the number of sick people keeps overwhelming supplies, then more people will die. And they are trying to prevent that. Please, please, abide by the quarantine for now. 2. You can have and spread Covid19 even if you don't have serious symptoms. Check your temperature daily. If you have a fever, stay home. If you have a cough, stay home. If you're having respiratory problems, stay home. 3. It's not just old people that die from it. It's just that they have a much higher mortality rate. There's more and more young fatalities everyday. So keep yourself safe. 4. Seriously.... wash your hands with soap, for 20 seconds. Just using hand sanitizer isn't enough. You have no idea how much washing your hands and not touching your face can go to keeping you safe. Wearing a mask won't necessarily keep you from getting sick, but it will help keep you from touching your face. The virus is spread mostly through touch. 5. DO NOT go to the Emergency Room unless your symptoms feel life threatening, as in you feel like you can't breath. They don't do testing at the hospital. They don't want non-critical patients at the hospital. If they fill the ER with covid19 patients they can't treat the patients that come in for actual emergencies. 6. You need a doctors referral to get tested. They are having issues keeping up on the testing, so they don't want people going in for tests simply out of paranoia. They don't do the testing at the Urgent Cares, or the hospitals. And they don't want people without serious life threatening symptoms coming in and spreading it to other patients. 7. To get a referral call your primary care physician. If you don't have one call an Urgent Care and ask about it. But they will only give the referral if you have a fever of 100ͦ , a cough, and trouble breathing. Do not just show up at the ER or Urgent Care. Call ahead. Tell them it's Covid19 related. They will want to screen you over the phone first and give you instructions. Again, they CAN NOT test you at the hospital or Urgent Care. They will just ask you about your symptoms and give you further instructions. Everyone is going to get sick eventually, the Covid19 virus isn't going to go away. What the world is trying to do is the buy enough time to create treatments, and keep the number of people sick to a manageable level.

Yes the quarantine sucks, but you won't think it's okay to just let millions of people die, when those people start becoming your friends and family. Yes the economy all across the world is hurting, but that can recover. You can't get people back once they die.
