Is it bad to act upon nostalgia?

I had this feeling of nostalgia this morning and I decided to act on it. Im not sure if it was a good or bad idea. when I was younger I used to be admin of a kik groupchat. I was a dick and made my way up there and wormed my way into the admin friend group. This friend group ended up being pretty tight but died out with the group chat. I was thinking about the good days and this group crossed my mind. I remembered how much i cared about one of the gang and i decided to reach out to him. i know know he goes to a college not too far away from my college now. the others of the group are across the us. Do you think it was a good idea to reach out to this guy. should i have let it sit as the good ole days of the murder chat or was this a good play. should i try to get the old group back together for a skype call like the good ole days. or am i stupid and should let the group die and move on. any opinions? anyone else hella nostalgic today? does anyone else miss the old internet?

Is there a reason you think that it wouldn't be a good idea? If you liked these people I don't see a reason not to reach out. Just keep in mind that some or a lot of them might not be receptive towards connecting again.

I'm not really getting the issue. There are communities like that online. Enjoying violence is normal. People don't act it and lead normal lives. Why is this an issue reaching out to the guy? Are you afraid he is planning murder? Does that turn you on and that scares you? We need more details.

In that sense I don't think it is. I mean I'm sure some of your old friends might be interested to hear back from you, but people do tend to change some especially once they get out of grade school and get into college and adult life. They might not be as interested to watch those sorts of things as they once did so I'd just keep that small thing in mind.

We all have a sense of being nostalgic as it's just human nature to go back and see what you have messed up or what you have missed.
