I'm pretty sure lots of people on many dating sites such as this just want to rush in without putting in the effort needed, and kind of just treats the other party as an object rather than, you know, an actual human being. Sucks that it happens a lot, but it is what it is I guess. Treat other people like actual people rather than just something to own/get. Every one here has their own lives outside of just MO, and some people forget that.

^ i like your take, kerb its probz because theres this disconnect between that person because they really are just text on a screen from your perspective. plus online dating tends to be a "this didnt work? time to move on to the next applicant", again probz because of the disconnect and the list of people in front of you to move on to

Yeah, I think it's just lots of "Oh, one didn't work, I still see another 100 accounts I go to" where it's numbers over actual people that are each unique and different. The disconnect of the internet and forums don't help towards that either. I personally don't really understand how people can get so disconnected where people start to think that their words and messages have absolutely no effect on others.
