Yes, there's a race for everything in DnD. It's been a while since I've played the newest addition, and last time I checked Audio here bought a bunch of DnD books, maybe he'll form a group here...

i tried to learn all the rules so i could play with my friends but theres way too many to be a casual player i mostly just remember half orcs, and you couldnt play a full orc cause they were bad guys pretty speciesist if you ask me

Well, when I DM, I let people play as Orcs. But to be lazy, they still use the half-orc stats (ain't nobody got time to improvise what an Orc preset would look like).

A big thing in D&D is homebrewing. Rarely does anyone do everything that's in the books. This stems from the fact the game evolved from tactical war games that gained more focus on roleplay and story telling as time went on.

I know that, but if you play by the rules of your local hobby shop, they do everything by the book. Of course when you play at your friend's house house rules are the limit. Although I'm too lazy to make an actual Orc race, I have made other custom races before including a race of flying humanoids who were capable of flight. @Excali, just answer the best you can, I agree on some of the questions none of the options were wholly acceptable to me, but I guess they wanted as little gray area as possible.
