I'll say something random: East Asians don't like "compliments" like " You look like South East Asians" , because South East Asians especially natives(many East Asians immigrated to those countries) are smaller and tanner than East Asians...

Though GD is a Nguyen, he looks pretty East Asian in my eyes!(Vietname..that climate..getting tanned cannot be avoided). After all, China and Vietnam are neighboring countries, communication is inevitable..So many Han Chinese Vietnamese who speak Cantonese live in that country...Some Vietnamese people live in Guangxi as well. We have Nguyens in China name, the same Chinese character!!阮..One classmate from primary school is also a Nguyen/Ruan~

@Enki, I also hear Asians tend to be nationalistic and xenophobic... even towards other Asians and would freak out if you mistook them for another Asian ethnic group.

Also Okinawans/OkinawanJin look slightly different from the Japanese~I noticed that people/mammals who live in tropical climates are more likely to be smaller;however amphibian will probably be larger..
