How to World Build Without Over Doing it?

a nice world building device is when you have someone local to the world explaining how it works to someone who isn't familiar with it think Lawrence explaining the various cities to Holo and their currencies or Mami explaining how witches are formed to Madoka and Sayaka in Puella. It both makes sense plotwise and also sneakily informs the reader/watcher too : )
