A recent study has shown that a bout a fifth of the millennial generation, at least here in America are friendless. I'm a millennial, but I do have friends both online and irl. But it seems a common complaint from people here is they also lack friends both irl and online. Why do you think that is? Do you have a problem with it? What about the Gen-Xers and Gen-Z people here, do you have that same problem? If so why?

For me, im a millenial and its the lack of social structure, before i join the army it wasnt just about finding as much as life problems, thinking about my financial situations, what im gonna do with my life and just finding a place to find friends were all difficult, when i joined the army, you had roomates a close and well discapline structure to go off at and away from home that you can forget about the past and start a new was ghe change from me. Everyones different but, i think it l starts with closing down the online life and joining clubs, or a community organize event which could help bring more people in our lives.

I also have several friends, both online an irl.
My sister never leaves the house, and used to have a friend, but lost them due to her liking Trump. She does have a boyfriend though.
I do know some people that have no social life whatsoever though, because literally 100% of their time is work and/or school, and getting ready for or resting for work and/or school. These people are also pretty much walking corpses.

I spend quite a bit of my time online, but I have both irl and online friends. I also don't really tend to have any problems when talking to strangers out in public, just a week ago I was on the train talking to a tourist from Florida (I'm from the Netherlands) for over an hour straight and on the same day I also met some people who I liked being around, ended up spending most of the day with them.
But I don't have many actual friends, though all of the friends I have are close friends. I'm friendly with quite a lot of other people though, but I don't really consider my bond with them close enough to call them a friend.

Saw this earlier. Honestly, I think the "no friends" statistic is bullshit. Really, not a single person you can call a friend? I'm thinking the numbers are being inflated by some form of collective self-pity.

Internet ruins relationships but I believe it brings together just as many. ^^example A so I would say that I find it false. Everyone is online and has people they talk to. I count that as a friend.
