It is very bold to assume that. If i needed to survive i probably would be pushed to eat a dog. I simply just dont want to. The slaughter will continue whether i eat it or not. If you dont eat chickens there is always a fox or coyote that will.

@hell_hound7 "me not wanting to eat a dog is simply due to the fact i never had it before"
Ok, so you would try it if someone offered it to you?
"Like i eat turkey breast but wont eat turkey neck. Why? What is different? Tastes? Texture? The way it looks? If i close my eyes its all the same"
Ok, so I'm going to be really charitable here, because what you said is admitting to irrationality. To say that the meat is all the same but you still wouldn't admit it is admitting that you arent being consistent.
I assume this isn't what you are admitting to though, so ill just add this so you can reiterate your point to what you really ment to say.

Why do you eat plants knowing its a sentient being capable of feeling pain?

@hell_hound7 Because plants meet the bare minimum qualifications of sentients, and do not feel pain. They do have a will to live though, but on a scale of suffering, the plant suffers far less than an animal.

I didnt say all meat was the same. I said its still part of a turkey albiet it might taste a tiny bit different depending on what part of the turkey you are eating. It is still the same animal. I also have not tried a turkey neck. See the theme here?

So because they suffer less its ok to let them suffer even though they have a will to live?

Why is it ok for plants to suffer but not animals?

If you knew that cow was killed without pain would you eat it?

No, but you admitted that all turkey tastes the same yet you only have an averse to one aspect, which is irrational if it all tastes the same. Unless you have rationality as to why you don't want to eat the necks? It seems like you said there was none but I understand points can become muddled in debates.
Let's assess some common ground regarding the plant discussion
Do you agree that they don't feel pain akin to what animals feel and that they simply react to stimuli?

No i dont agree, how do you know what sort of pain plants feel? How do you test if a plant can feel? How do you know they arent sentient, because someone made a guess that they dont? Grass makes a high pitched scream when you step on it. If plants try to defend themselves from predators maybe they do feel pain and want it to stop.
