i disagree. discontent is what exasperates the voice of political unrest uprisings happen when the people are agitated by a government that neglects their wishes, you can look to any revolt in history and find that

"Politics" in America are nothing more than team sports like football. Beliefs and conviction don't even exist in America, it is just people who want their color to win regardless. This false team conflict will give way to a true conflict. It will not be simply a "government vs the people" issue, it will be like a civil war between the nosy people and the people who want to be left alone. When the heat comes around there will be no more fighting over "ideologies" and "theory", it will be people fighting to preserve their type. There are two types of people because it is simpler to understand it that way. When you stop overthinking with "ideology" and "theory", it becomes more apparent when the practicality is that some people want control and some people just want to be free. They may disagree over petty "approaches" to achieve their end goal, but it reaches a singularity in the end because humans must stand together to survive. The lone wolf perishes in real life. To stand up for yourself, you must learn to defend yourself first. How can you even think of who is attacking if you are too weak to do anything about it? Perhaps you should figure out what type of person you are first before deciding who is your enemy. Sun Tzu said that you must not only understand the enemy, but yourself. If you know the enemy but not yourself, you will a lose a battle for every victory you gain. If you know know neither, you will lose every battle. It is only when you know both that you will become unbeatable. o7

@mountain_tiger i dare disagree that partisanship in and of itself isn't even akin to 'sports teams'. the fact that the parties are so ideologically opposed is what sparks this heavy disagreement, not some kind of tribalism. human behaviors are far too complex to type cast them into any two groups, its a very naive and simplistic way of viewing us. humans are too irrational to be put into any sort of linear box. even within political parties we have in fighting over ideologies. that's why personality tests are so bullshit, people react to questions totally differently simply based on their mood. can you name an issue that isn't 'real' that people fight against? do you believe inequality within the criminal justice system is something that doesn't exist? this is a strange, almost utopian perspective you have on the world

The nature of American partisanship is very tribal if you see how either side behaves in victory and defeat. They commit to the same actions they condemn the other for partaking in. There is "ideological opposition" between the main factions, but they mutually engage in the same behavior and bear no true conviction. Not to mention, the two alleged "sides" in America would actually probably find a lot they would agree on than disagree on. It is just agitators who continue to play the majority of people against each other with deceit and lies. People fighting for real issues is not an indicator of their genuine belief or conviction. There are many people in America who simply do what they are told based on what they were told to believe. There is a thing as Occam's Razor, simplicity is not necessarily bad or inaccurate. Personality tests are bullshit because they are just silly trivia games that pretend to be a meaningful and complex analysis but are actually just silliness. I would say the situation is a paradox reminiscent of a bell curve. Both extremes of the curve are equally correct in a sense. True, all humans are unique in a sense, not equal to one another. But it is also true all humans as part of the same species share some basic qualities that can be used to classify them for practicality. It is a contradiction to condemn any sense of "inequality" if one believes all humans are different. People cannot be treated equally because no people are equal to one another in many instances. It is not a utopian view of the world to believe we will be forever trapped in a cycle of vanity, virtue signalling, and eventual warfare. In fact, it is more utopian to strive for equality when it will never be achieved. o7

@flare3 You need to think deeper than a singular incident. I will not tell you what you should or should not believe, you should figure that out yourself. Consider what you truly value and believe, what you really want in life, and who might stop that from happening. You don't have to think in the terms I've mentioned. o7
