I'm on Lamby side on this one. Let's say I buy a Playstation 5 from Wal-Mart and decide to sell it for my own profit. When I bought that Playstation 5 it officially becomes mine and I have license to use their software. What I decide to do with it after I buy it is nobody's business but my own. Sony has their money from Wal-Mart since Wal-Mart had to buy it from Sony. Wal-Mart has their money since they have their own distributor markup. So everybody has the money they were expecting to get.
They don't have any say in the matter after they have voluntarily exchanged the item for money. Just as if I were to sell that Playstation 5 to a person, I have no say as to what they do with it. They could turn around and sell it again, smash it with a hammer, or use it for the intended purposes. Fact of the matter is all parties involved have what they have asked for and the Playstation 5 is now not Sony's, Wal-Mart's or my problem.

Debates about abortions is tough since people have different ideas about when personhood actually happens. If it’s at fertilization, birth or somewhere in between. And there’s no real scientific answer to that.
I will say that we don’t do late term abortions because it’s incredibly risky to the life of the mother. If we do, then there’s something seriously wrong with the pregnancy and personally, for a woman to carry a baby for so long, to the point that you’re thinking names and buying items only for you to be told that you can’t carry to term is heart wrenching and really should be discussed with the family and the doctors without any input from a government entity

yeah i agree, but thats why i think that hypothetical is a good one to use (its not one of my own creation)
when life begins is not a scientific discussion but a philosophical one, which is why i don't think we can tell someone what to do in this regard

I think the best argument I’ve heard regarding abortion was from an angle of harm to the father, like he wants the baby but she doesn’t. It’s not un-debatable because for sure, I can think of ways I disagree but yeah, still better than most I hear :p

i would still say its the womans say as its her body
we don't prioritize human life over bodily automony in any way besides abortion

It came up during ethics class, and yeah, the argument I liked for it is also at what point does a father’s moral rights to be a father overcome a mother’s right to e, having to carry a baby to term and go through labor. Women still very much die in childbirth, and at a pretty high rate in the USA compared to other developed countries. We were and still are, I think, the highest in the developed world

np i was able to read it >w>/
yeah that's what it comes down to for me, the mothers well being over the fetuses
the mother can suffer but the fetus, depending on the amount of weeks, does not
how do you kill something that doesn't know its alive, after all?

Oh hey! Minor derail, you were a meat eater before right @lamby? Is the impossible meat a good imitation? Or the beyond? I’ve never had substitute meat and looking for recommendations to try :p

@xueli, From what I've heard both are very close to the real thing. The only real difference that I've heard of is that they dont caramelize the same as beef.
