Nah. Being a sociopath is over rated. Gotta feel the feels, even the ones you don't want. If it hurts, Focus on healing, rather than either indulging or numbing the pain, as this lets you process better, decreasing the chances of the emotions leaving a mental scar, and giving you mental health problems later down the line.
That said, you okay, bro?

Well, that sucks. We're here for you if you need it. Other than that, take your time, feel free to vent it out of your system, and you're amongst people who can relate.

Post 1 was basically along the lines of "If you could turn off the part of yourself that feels emotions, would you?" Of course I'm paraphrasing based on what I remember.
Post 3 was along the lines of "Not really, I had a bad day at work, and may have messed up a budding romance. But thanks for the wisdom. I appreciate it."
Guess he wanted to delete the thread.

Rising above your emotions to perceive the higher logic and reason isn't quite the same as turning them off, in my opinion.

Well by turning them off, i meant of it more as controlling the emotions.. i guess its not the same as turning them off, its more of a positive way of reducing emotions ?

More positive? Perhaps. Controlling your emotions is generally a sign of intelligence, or understanding. But let's say someone is hurting. Like emotionally. The first instinct is to either try to numb the pain and forget about it, Or be petty and lash out. For the latter, of course, that's when we need to control the emotions. For the former, however, merely numbing and neglecting emotions without working through them is a good way for unresolved issues to enter the subconscious echo chamber. If that makes sense. Much like the stages of grief, emotional wounds kinda need to go through a process in order to healthily heal. Part of that process is owning up to how you feel, and addressing to yourself why you feel that way. Of course this isn't done all at once. Its something you deal with a little bit at a time.
This is the way I've come to understand it at least.
