I had the morning off school for a dentist appointment that morning, turned on the tele just before leaving the house to check the weather and came across the live news feed just as the 1st tower went down... couldn't wrap my head around it for the first few seconds..."why are they demolishing such a big building, it dosn't look ran down or anything"...
What really triggered that something was seriously wrong was that the news reporters were really struggling to think of what to say, just this strange uncomfortable silence.

i was 5 and dont remember shit about it, but apparently i was at my grandparents when it happened (i had a friend who was born 9/12/95 which sucks)
i think its old enough that we can joke about it, but mostly because joking is a good coping mechanism that can be used to gain control over an otherwise uncontrollable situation
but i get people can and will be offended, so gotta pick your crowd

I was 12 years old at the time. I remember it very well. I was young enough to feel a sense of stability but also old enough to feel that shattered. I remember my afghan friend was fearful we'd be put into internment camps after they found out the Taliban was behind it. From even five I was aware of the Taliban cause of my parents but now the Taliban became a household name and common discussion. The National Mall use to have big picnics during the fourth of July that were so much fun but no longer after 9/11 a lot of things changed and the world felt a little less safer to me.

Ehhhh 9/11 memes would be ok any other day, but not on the day when we actually remember the men, women and children who died in that attack. American or not innocent people died for no reason

it must seem so weird to other countries why wer so sensitive about 911
like, wev had bigger tragedies in america, bigger number of casualties, but those were all accidents
we've had the privilege of never having battles or anything of the like happen in our country, our people have always felt safe
thats why 911 was such a shock
it was just so quick
and those twin towers were our pride and glory, thats why they were targeted
now, i think 9/11 was an inside job personally perpetrated by bush to justify an unjustifiable war for some good ol' oil (a similar false flag operation was proposed JFK by the cia to attack cuba by downing a plane going to cuba, killing citizens but justifying the war, which jfK turned down thankfully, but i dont see bush doing the same)
but thats my nutjob thoughts on it
i trust mt government as much as they trust me (hello nsa agent-san)
