I've been getting a few spam messages myself but I don't mind them at all, just randoms anyways. I suggest people grow a pair and adapt to the internet. You can't control the behavior of bots, creeps, and they can't control you. So adapt and just ignore them and move on like a normal internet user.
If you want to leave then leave. There are many people that come and go and playing white knight won't help much but make the place look like some kind of sad PC place.

Yeah, and let me be clear I'm not advocating that people stop policing but instead ignore the useless bait and fishing attempts. If someone breaks the rules or is straight up harassing then please use the report button. If someone is hurting someone in real life then report them and then contact the site and have them report it to the authorities.
I'm not sure the reason "WHY" is the big question unless it's just your burning curiosity. If she's getting hurt and you know then that should be reported. If not and she just ghosted you then there isn't much you can do about that.

"It is the nature of the internet and it is never going to go away no matter how much you try. It's like placing a juicy peach near bees, expecting them not to go near it."
That doesn't make it ok nor should it be brushed off as "to be expected". Sure, be aware that it happens, but one should have some form of safety and even more on small sites such as this. I mean, should we say then that sexual harassment happens in real life, so let's just ignore it? Same difference.
Why even have mods then? Of course, the mods aren't really useful here and weren't even a thing for the first five or so years of this site. Honestly, it seemed to function about the same before mods were implemented. So, why care about them? It's the nature of people to have favoritism.
If you think there are more pressing matters, be the leader and talk about them. What're they gonna do? Ban you? Very, very doubtful. I believe sephiroth would much prefer this place to run smoothly.

doesn't stop people from complaining about it
but you're right, just yesterday koyomi and i had a guy who came over to take furniture off our hands and he started creepily flirting with me and saying im sexy and stuff when koyomi wasnt around.
this guy i think was like 50 years old. anyway it happens off the net too. not just the net. probably less? im not sure, doesnt happen to me as much online when i dont show that im a girly guy online. but when i do it happens more online than irl.
anyway it is funny to compare creeper stories sometimes long as they aren't SUPER creepy like finding your address and leaving corpses in your mail or something.
all the same, it shouldn't happen in the first place, people should be adult enough to keep their sexual desires in check.

Oh, it's certainly not a huge issue for all, but for some it is. You can say it's not as personal as offline, but another may disagree. I mean, I dont understand how someone can be bullied online to the point of suicide, but I can understand when it's by someone whom you can't get away from offline(Apples to oranges, but the point is there.). My point is, it's still fundamentally the same thing, even if you think you know how to handle it. Harassment is harassment, no matter the place and being online doesn't make it any less so.
While I'm in the view of "Brush it off, toughen up and just ignore idiots.", I'm more than aware that not everyone can and that's who my points are being made for. Many can ignore, but none should have to. Just saying.
I'll stop now, it's just repetition on my part at this point.
