This video brought a tear to my eye, https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=fTBA79HAC2M. I feel happy whenever I see, (or read about) someone doing something out of kindness.

Trust me I have been that person who was homeless but not longer than others where I would even give money to homeless people or people that are struggling.

I still feel that kindness goes a long way little by little things what happened even if it's just in your circle you can let others in that small circle and make it even bigger.

Given that I've seen money go to waste for cigarettes seconds after donating, I generally get in the practice of giving food over money. Besides. I have to watch my compassionate impulses, considering I'm kinda a charity case myself right now. (Car broke, went broke, and got laid off all on the same day... Today.)
That said, I agree on one point. Charity shouldn't only be practiced in front of the cameras, or even in organized charity events.

@lamby i find that filming acts of kindness actually goes a long way towards helping other people. seeing acts of kindness has helped me out of hopelessness and the feeling there is only darkness.
i don't see homeless people often but when i have money to buy them food or anything i make sure to. used to do it more when i lived in the big city, where i live now theres very few homeless people, or at least very few that i've seen since ive moved here.

homeless people are not always like that. perhaps they are in your country but in my country many of them just got fired from jobs because of a mistake or something or other. and some of them just enjoy being homeless and don't really bother people for food because they know how to survive homeless, such as my roommate who laments having a job because he lacks a lot of the freedoms he had when he was homeless. he went to shelters and found other places to sleep when the shelters were full, etc. showered in the rain. tells me a lot of really awful stories about other homeless he's met, that i honestly am not allowed to tell here because they are against the rules and involve words i am not allowed to say without being banned even under a serious, education related context, which is weird but besides the point.
a lot of his stories are about girls who got addicted to drugs because of boyfriends and well... bad things happened. can't go further than that in explaining without risking a ban.
many of these girls were like 14-16 too and i recall one story of a meth or heroin addict (again, boyfriend got her addicted) who died at age 16 or 17 if i remember correctly.
things aren't always black and white is my point. every homeless person has their own story you can't paint them all the same way.
