Some women/men are quite flirty...It is difficult to tell if she/he is flirty only when talking to you or not....
They like you..but they don't like you in a romantic sense..

"The enemy of love is not hate, it is disinterest" is a quote that comes to mind. I'm not exactly a relationship guru. In fact for the record i'm a 21 year old Virgin who finds such relationships akin to trading half of your persona away for half of someone else's.
However, from research on various subjects, I can say that finding hints to whether someone likes you can be done by deciphering every action made. in example;
Follow their eye line as you talk to them. do they observe you, or do they look away in an attempt to draw alternative information from the environment.
Observe their body language. For example People tend to manipulate their hair follicles when dedicating their brain to a task, at a subconscious level. This can be shown as twirling their hair in conversation or running your fingers through the scalp like a comb when trying to solve a problem.
Decode the language they use. When they react to you talking about yourself, and draw a comparison to how they interact when the subject is relating to things you know interest them.
This is all i cbf to bring to mind atm. The general point; Attention to detail is your friend. We all exhibit hints to these kind of things, it's a matter of deciphering the signs.

All of these speculations are funny. I mean, if even one was fool proof, there would be no "relationship experts" writing thier books and make thier millions off of desperate people. It's kind of like penis enlargement pills and how they take advantage of people's insecurities.

Very true. Many of these are true but none of them are guaranteed to hold water in any and every situation or with any particular person. They are all things to keep in mind but always something to take with a grain of salt and your own gut intuition.

That is worth mentioning, It's so individualistic that any generalisation attempt to pinpoint these so called hints in completely hit and miss. Not everyone expresses joy, interest, and happiness in the same or even in remotely similar manners. All you can do is attempt to apply general information to your own situation, and work towards developing an understanding this way.
On the understanding note, it might be a worthwhile experiment to treat the subject with a complete lack of trust, as i remember reading that giving your trust to someone is the point where you stop trying to understand them.

They can handle your farts and may even fart back, so as to not let you feel alone or unappreciated.

As someone on the high end of the autistic spectrum I find reading others (especially emotionally unless it's blatantly obvious) to be quite a difficult task, though through some kind of Mr. Bean-esque shenanigans I've managed to find myself in three relationships over the years and being the object of affection in several other cases that I didn't catch onto until it was too late due to my lack of social awareness (though I'm getting better every day the more I learn!) but from what I can tell it's mostly spending a good amount of time with someone that you can sort of pick up on any tells they may have.
Though in my case that takes a good while; just keep paying attention to subtle things like body language, their actions, and how they talk like other people mentioned and if those change when they're around you and talking to you specifically then there's at least... I want to say a 40-60% chance they may have feelings for you as well. Maybe. Again, as mentioned above everyone's different. Some people have no tells whatsoever like myself since I'm too dumb socially to give off the subtlety of emotion required to be read by others so I come off as either unpredictable or in some cases as obvious as I can possibly make it without saying what I really want to say since I've got some real bad social anxiety that keeps getting worse lately. (Though I've been trying to work through it over the years. Maybe someday I'll be able to conquer it completely and live a normal life...)
I think it really just comes down to taking a gamble more than anything else which is scary as heck (believe me on that) but sometimes you've just got to lay your chips on the table and go for it! If it doesn't pan out it wasn't meant to be, but if it does then hey, you did it! Either way you've done something that a lot of people find difficult doing and I think that deserves a pat on the back if anything even if it ends in rejection. (And hopefully doesn't ruin any friendship due to awkwardness. Just try to let that blow over and don't make it worse before things go back to normal; you don't want to lose a friend either!)
