    Teacup, as far as inspiration and practice goes.  Instead of copying a painting, how about painting something out of a photograph.  With a photo there's no guessing about lighting or reflection.  It'll never move or change on you halfway through.

    Just try going with whatever comes to mind first. There's also more to art than just painting, and even within painting there are many different forms. I can't paint water colors or murals for shit, but I am excellent at painting models. If all else fails, try adult coloring books...

    Thinking "Just do it." It's obvious, bland, and straight-forward but it works. Just doodle, that's the best way to start. Shapes. Sketches. Bad cartoons. Non-sense. Then after a few minutes I usually get an idea of something I ACTUALLY want to draw.
