Your Opinion on Feminism

leo_ss
It's up to the person to be mature enough to know when things are small issues or large. Core issues or not, It's better to talk thing through than explode. A woman is only called insane when she is, well acting insane, on a general basis. There's a reason for that. And it's still not oppression even when it is. Girls CAN do this, They can act outrageous, however it doesn't mean people want to deal with this. And it isn't Wrong of them Not to. My ex, Constantly made arguments, belittled me and went screaming, For the smallest of reasons. And no that is not okay. Just because they may think it's serious, Doesn't mean it is. Hence my point of people needing to be mature. Either you're spending time with the wrong people, or you very well may be acting in a wrong way. I don't know, because I wasn't there to see those interactions. Either way, Society as a whole don't put people down for showing emotion. Only when people overreact. Even when something is a core value. Like for instance, me, I'm against Abortion overall, I think you are murdering a human life. I can't go on and scream and yell at people because of it. Because that get's us no where. So I must control my passion about the subject. There are times and places to let loose anger. But again. They must be justified. There's a difference between disagreeing and roasting. Roasting is insulting for the sake of it. Disagreeing and proving wrong, is trying to improve society as a whole by discussion. Men proving women incorrect through logic isn't roasting. Also Loli I'll be sure to check that out. Will comment when I have done.

You see this is the problem with your argument, I haven't insulted you once. I've been doing nothing but try to have dialogue with you. Of course I've been disagreeing with you, because I Know what you are saying is incorrect, But That doesn't mean I've been 'roasting' you. Trust me, I know the difference. When did I ridicule you? I don't care that you're woman, I don't if someone's a man. In debate, I care about the facts. That's it. I'm not manipulating anyone, and as a man who lived in a trailer park for fourteen years of his life, I certainly don't have the LEVERAGE or POWER to oppress anyone. I never called your opinions delusional. However I don't think your issues exist, on a societal level. Because I haven't been shown a reason to believe it yet. Look, you're the only one who's been using insults. Which by the way, Is immature. You're the only one who has been saying I'm just making excuses. When I've given facts and data for the beliefs I know. You seem to only go back to insults when you have nothing else to say. Which proves the holes in your arguments. I've never oppressed anyone in my life. And I won't ever. If anything you're acting 'oppressive' any man who disagrees with you MUST be making excuses, HE MUST BE using manipulation tactics. That's just ridiculous. I haven't attacked you once that wasn't reactionary from something you said prior. And even then, I've been trying to keep things civil, even with the above insults you have done. So again. You're projecting. You know what that's all your arguments are. Projection. You can't prove your points, So you call me, or anyone else that disagrees with you. Exactly what you are doing. I feel bad for you honestly, because I don't believe you even see it yourself. If you don't like the conversation. Don't respond. But I will defend myself from your baseless accusations. It's hilarious that you call me a conspiracy theorist, when I'm the one in this argument who has actually used evidence.

Why do you people come to an anime website to have such pointless debates?
leo_ss
Well the site does have this side of the forum for Politics, religion, and other serious topics. SO Talking politics in the politics section. And I made this topic to try to see and debate peoples opinions on things. I like to talk with people with differing opinions, especially if they can prove me wrong with(As I love to learn.). However this has become somewhat of a mess I must admit unfortunately.
sir_loligagger_faded_face
@ Lock n' Key I'm not sure about anyone else but I do it because there is a serious section of the site and why not put it to use? Also when I came here I saw some things that spelled "echo chamber" and I thought why not kick the beehive a little to get them to come out and see the world around them. I didn't kick it to cause harm and any damage I made I would personally glue it back. There is also not a lot of dating going on here and it felt like a nice place to dump out the many random thoughts that go in and out of my head so I can go back to drawing. If these topics are really meaningless then they will die out and no one will revive them and it will go back to normal. Whatever happens is okay with me but I'll unapologetically post my mind here and the day that I stop will be the day that my mind will not be a mind or I stop using the site. Oh and I understand the idea of why? I mean who wants to get stung or sting others? Well, the reality is that to have a debate and share ideas you're going to end up hurting someone's feelings or beliefs and it's going to end up with someone feeling uncomfortable. Which is good it means you and the other person are learning and experiencing a challenge. To remove the risk of offense would be to sterilize thought and ideas of challenging positions. Just to make it clear I'm not speaking for anyone else but myself.

Every person is autonomous and self aware, with private self ownership, therefore thoughts and speech and actions of the individual are not to be regulated, unless in retaliation to a violation of those same rights of another. Whether or not you agree with another's subjective opinion is entirely irrelevant towards whether or not they have the right to voice said opinion. To deny this is to deny one's right to free speech and by extension the right to voice dissent towards tyranny. For instance, let's say that you can be jailed or censored for being deemed "offensive". This means one need only regard your speech as offensive to have you shut down. Now on a private platform this is fine (You have as much a right to ignore my words as I have to speak them), But it should not be considered an exercise of violence or oppression for someone to not agree with you. That's a dangerous slope
leo_ss
I agree whole heartedly with you burninghalo. All people have the right to state their opinions. However I also have the right to disagree with said opinions, And if possible, prove them incorrect, if I believe they are.

The main problem with forums like this, is that it is a topic that can become heated very quickly. A topic like this is bound to have someone who is joining in who is IMMEDIATELY heated, just because of the topic being brought up. To make my opinion known. Discrimination is ALWAYS a thing, whether its gender, skin color, wealth, what kind of job you have/position of job (yes i consider this and wealth separate), etc., its going to be there, because two people standing side by side, there are BOUND to be differences. And humans hate was is different. That said, i think things are definitely needed to continue pushing for people to pay mind to their treatment of others. Emotional abuse is a thing. Oppression is prolonged abuse. Oppression is prolonged cruel or unjust treatment or control. and that's by definition. Are women oppressed? YES. not by laws, but by individuals. And we all know that 100 men can be good men, but most will only take notice of the 5 bad men sitting next to them. "People will always remember the bad things you have done more than the good." And that's true just as a human being. Are feminists today still fighting to stop oppression? YES. However, they are making one mistake, they are not discouraging mistreatment of men. "We want equal rights!" Some men come around to that idea. "And some of us want to treat you like garbage only useful for procreation!" Those same men now are on the defensive because of the few feminists that do that (also, those type of feminists are the loudest AND as i said, negatives are always the most noticed)... Actually some men may LIKE that... masochists... i think feminism still has a place, but they need to be more centered and not allow the more radical sides to override the feminist message with their own fanatical one. Are men oppressed? Yes. Just not in the same way. All those things about a man going to jail when he didn't do anything are true. One kid who had his life going for him in football, was forced to sit 7 years in jail, ruining his life, because a girl accused him of rape. Yes, she got in trouble. They had to pay the money back PLUS some from the lawsuit they claimed over it. But did she go to jail? no. Was he allowed to go back in time so he can make something of his life that was taken away from him? no. Luckily he was removed from the sex offender list (which rarely happens) but the stigma, and the loss of time is whats horrible. And if its this easy for a person with NO record, and was just a rising and bright youth, and so easily believe to be an enemy of women... then yes, there IS a tilt. Most give opinions based on two things. Facts they researched, and observations they have made. (Personal experiences are in the observation part.) Bad thing is, personal experiences also weigh the heaviest in the average persons opinion. And those personal experiences can cause heated emotions. The reason why some females on this forum agree with feminism going too far, is more than likely their experiences are different. They may agree that there is a problem, but may view the group who are meant to solve that problem, are starting to lose their way. Either way, there is no way to have this discussion, without SOMEONE getting heated somewhere. And to be honest, despite my own opinion, id be wary about giving my opinion on a topic that under normal circumstances, me being a male, we were why the group formed in the first place.
