You'll get the hang of it. The first few goes will feel intense, but it'll eventually feel like any ordinary kirin.

Yeah he isn't that terrible after awhile. I brought both vitality mantle and thunder mantle to toggle between. It's grants just a little breather if you get caught off guard. I'll have to finish my needed hunts later, hopefully before he's gone Dx

I run a GL set with Steadfast / Anti Para / Thunder Resist jewels + Vitality / Temporal Mantles.

How well does the temporal mantle work for him?? I've been curious but didn't try it on my one hunt.

It works really well. There have been a few occasion wear it hasn't work, but it was for tripping/minor attacks.

I have never needed the Thunder mantle for Kirin, three thunder resist jewels have always been enough for me.
