What do you think about never getting married?

I've decided it's likely for the best if I just avoid it. The older I get the more I feel like I'm just not suited for it. That is to say... I feel others will be better off to avoid getting involved with me romantically. Being alone isn't terrible, and I'm largely okay with myself; I just don't feel that I'm a good partner.

yeah, i see a lot of marriages that have no more love supporting it but end up not divorcing for whatever reason. i dont wanna be stuck with that

Never getting married has its pros and cons. One pro, if you decide the relationship is no good, there isn't any legal bearings on it. Con, if something happens to your significant other, you don't really have the right to visit them (if your in the USA, not sure about other countries), along with the social/religious issues that may come up if you have kids with them without being married. There are many other ways for the situation to be good or bad, though I don't feel the need to go into further detail.

While I would end up being serious with a woman, certain emotional "complications" would make me freeze at the point of marriage. No thanks with kids though, tyvm.

It doesn't really bother me tbh If you have a " problem " of never getting married or never being in a rs? Then you all need a pill on life because it isn't all roses and rainbows I don't care if I'm never married and I don't care if I'm in a relationship, yea it's good but the only one who can make yourself happy is yourself and if you need someone to make you happy then it's pretty pathetic Just my opinion

I have no issues with getting married since it helps with taxes and other benefits the government recognizes. However, if a relationship is true, then that's more important than some document saying that its "official." I guess overall, I'm indifferent. If my future significant other wants to get married and the time is right, I wouldn't have an issue, but I don't think I would bring it up first. To answer the question "What do you think about never getting married?": I don't mind. Just as long as I can be in a relationship and the love is there, I will be happy.

I got close to getting married once, but I'm glad I didn't. It would have been a mistake

With the cost of a wedding, divorce rates at least 50% within the first 10 years of marriage, and divorce laws so heavily lop-sided in many states, I don't know why anyone would consider getting married (outside of religious reasons) these days when most of the "benefits" of married life can just be achieved through mutual co-habitation. You still see a handful of people getting married in their late teens to early 20's and by the time 30 rolls around, they aren't so "in-love" with their high school sweetheart any longer given how much people can change during their 20's. I just don't see much benefit to the institution in this day and age.

my Friend said this joke once that heard from someone: “ Marriage is a funeral, but with cake.” I just don’t see the appeal and I’m just horrified whenever I hear how divorces courts are against the man most of the time. You could live your whole life with someone without that goddamn piece of paper saying your married. But right now I just dont want to.
