Well I don't think he ever claimed that. But he tried to blame the Greens (a minor party) for pushing against backburning. Saying it's their fault. Only three things wrong with that. 1. The greens are a minor party and are not in power and never will be because they are irrelevent. and their bill never passed 2. You are only meant to burn some kinds of biomesnin Australia. For example you don't burn rainforests or woodland. And That's what the Greens bill was about. 3. The part that caught fire were these ancient woodlands that had dried up so much, and have so much fuel (because they don't seasonally burn) that it pretty much caused a small apocalypse. Those woods are usually too green to burn so easy. Climate change is real and its definitely happening here folks. Respect nature.
