Anime - Summer 2017

'Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e' Ep. 12 I'm a little disappointed in the main character. Though I get that's how he was written. I was hoping to see some growth from him. Still, it's a shame this one is ending. It was an interesting story and I would have enjoyed seeing it develop further. Overall I'm giving this one a 7/10. They lost a point for the main characters ending comments. But I'd still recommend this one. It was definitely interesting to watch. I hope it gets a second season.

'Gamers!' Ep. 12 What a totally crap fan service episode. Aguri was 100% right about all the stuff she was saying about games. Yet they're trying to convince her that games aren't too expensive, and DLC are worth it. And worse, that horrible games are still worth it too. The entire episode just seemed like shameless propaganda for the gaming industry. Games are getting too expensive. The gaming industry is ripping off gamers as a whole. And they are nickle and diming gamers for every last ounce of content they can. But hey, lets sell the lies with some fan service and an over extended bath scene. Scoring this anime 5/10. Again losing a point because of the crap last episode.

'Konbini Kareshi' Ep. 12 So not cool. That second protagonist is still so lame it makes me cringe watching him. Overall, I'm giving this one a 5/10. The animation was really well done. But the story was lacking. It's hard to enjoy watching a romance story about someone who goes about it so half assed.

'Made in Abyss' Ep. 13 (48 minutes long) This is hard one to critique. I can't say the story was bad. The characters were cute, and for the most part fun to watch. It was actually fairly interesting. But from the characters and animation style, you'd think this one was directed at young kids. Yet despite that, it was extremely brutal. And with the mild sexual content, it's pg-13 at best. Totally not geared towards the audience you'd think it was. It leaves me wondering where the creators sense of morality is. It was tragic enough that I just can't feel good about it, despite it being really well done.

'The Reflection' Ep. 11 Here's an idea... Instead of stopping the bad guys from furthering their plans. Let's just wait and see what they do next. Again... Worst heroes ever. Did Stan Lee actually write this?
