Favorite Bad Guy/Villain/Antagonist

kuroshiro_2573
I'm a bit iffy on this, as there are protagonists that I feel act a lot more like antagonists. If we're talking just actual antagonists, I'd have to go with a boring option with Joker, the psychological elements to him make him more interesting. As for protagonists that act more like antagonists, I'd have to say Lelouch, the fact that he executed such a master plan without flaw outside of a couple accidental deaths, goes to show how dangerous he can be if his intentions weren't good.

The LEGO is only a tool, the real villian is my nephews who don't clean up.

There can only be one villain. https://youtu.be/PfYnvDL0Qcw Okay, kidding aside. For me, what defines a great villain is one who's over-the-top, memorable, sympathetic, but also diabolical and subtle. Ghaleon from Lunar Silver Star Story Complete is my favorite villain of all time because he has all of those traits. https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/lunar/images/3/31/Ghaleon%27s_Sword_Eternal_Blue.png He's really very complicated but interesting and that's what I absolutely love about him because you can understand his motivation and why he does the things that he does. He's one of the four great heroes that saved Lunar in the past with his friends and is greatly respected and admired by everyone. So when you first meet him he doesn't seem like such a bad person and not completely obvious that he reeks of evil. Maybe a little mysterious and kind of strange? But, you gain his trust because he's a legend and greatly respected. He sends you off on missions and you do them for him and you still don't notice anything. But then there's a moment in the game that's completely unexpected and he breaks that trust and shatters it. It's really brilliant writing the way it's done and he reveals who he really his and his intentions. You can really sympathize with him because even though he's done some evil stuff. He wants revenge because his friend was taken away from him due to foolishness. His evil laughs are amazing too. Another great villain I enjoy is Nergal from Fire Emblem Blazing Sword on the GBA. https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/fireemblem/images/e/eb/NergalArtwork.png Almost very much for similar reasons as Ghaleon. Nergal was once a human that sought out knowledge of the world. But he discovered a forbidden dark power which eventually let his heart fall to greed and power. There's actually a sadness to his character... because he again, wasn't a bad person originally but he allowed greed and power to consume his mind.
