Why Did You Join MaiOtaku?

Hello all, just joined today. Tried posting in "intro" but I get error messages, so let's see if posting works here... Anyways, I wanted to chat with others and possibly make friends :)

this is a good question! i was in a hit and run auto accident and have been bed ridden for over a year, (getting better and NO i wasn't disfigured and a mangled mess :) Just needed to have a few surgeries on my neck and shoulder.Hopefully this upcoming one will be the last.) and I really, really, really hate day time TV, I watched all the movies I could to past the time, , but seem to always returned to my Favorite anime channels where i would watch whole seasons in a day. Dosen't matter what the genre as long as the the story is good. Being a little older i have been a binge watcher for a long time. (Yes i watched things like Cowboy Bebop when they first became available) When the girlfriend recently left (She is a good girl so no bad comments, she had her own demons to deal with) i wanted to find a place i could meet people with similar interests as me that DONT think anime as childish, immature.or a "PHASE IN LIFE" My Avatar is actually a picture from the book i wrote. Some say it is "the Inner Me" (not here to plug it so don't ask. you may find out more about it when you know me better) I have met lots of people in the gaming MMO community and wanted to see if there are some of the same wonderful type of people are here as well.

Well, because it was marketed as a dating website for anime nerds. I thought it would be nice to try a dating site that narrowed that much down at least, but as I've learned from the community these last couple of days, this is apparently near useless as a dating site. *shrug* I might stay around since everyone says the community is pretty great, and I do need more friends after graduating college and everyone going their desperate ways, but I'd be lying if I said it wasn't disappointing to hear. (I will say, as a computer guy, the level of broken this website is makes me sad and laugh at the same time XD)

I just wanted to make friends and talk to people with the same intrest bc no one around me watched, likes or cares to try watching anime. Even my parent don't know about me being an otaka or watching anime although its a really big part of my life they will defenitly not support it and say 'stop watching that trash'. So i thought why not try to make friends online :D

Because I'm looking for a relationship and figured hey maybe I will make a few friends along the way, plus I've always been an anime fan not as much as I am now but it was always something I enjoyed.
