I actually have a background in Kenpo. And to this day, its the most violent one I've studied in. They never told me to go for the eyes in Karate. Personally though, if I ever get back into the martial arts scene, I'd like to learn more of this:

TKD, Karate, Taichi, Aikido, Escrima~
I dabbed into several others while I was president of my college's martial art club.
I love martial arts. I am interested in learning more in Jiujitsu, Capoeira in the future =)

I have practiced Muay Thai, Taekwondo, Hopkido, and Kumdo. I am also experienced in fighting against some other styles as well as basic techniques for those styles. I had a couple friends who also studied martial arts, and we would get together, and train twice a week. On of them studied Jeet Kun Do. The other studied Brazilian Jiu-jutsu, Shotokan Karate, and several forms of Kung fu. My favorite Martial Arts are Sufferian Bella Diri Silat, Muay Boran, Wing Chun, and Shaolin Kung fu. My favorite is particularly Silat, however you would have to go to Indonesia, or Malaysia to actually learn that specific style. I like Krav, but I think the martial art needs to be refined a little more. A lot of times when I watch practitioners of the style practice, the movements tend look a little rigid, and not fluid. Although, if you are going to learn one style, and be done Krav is probably one of thee very best to learn.
Here is a demo of some Silat moves.

If you like this I recommend looking at his knife fighting it is similar to filipino knife fighting, but better.

I haven't taken martial arts long enough to learn moves to muscle memory. It was only a semester of Aikido and Taekwondo (and fencing!) My natural tendency when someone is trying to fight me is kind of like Kwai Chang Caine in the Kung Fu series (starring the late David Carradine) and brush punches aside and try to push them down.

I tend to lean towards a lot of footwork and kicking a little more than anything else, just because I took Taekwondo for the longest.

I have been doing it on the side now for about two years. I started learning the basics of Tai Chi, combined with some Aikido. My Sensei told me it is a life long goal. I kinda get that feeling because there is always more to learn.
