Reasonable Age Of Consent

On average it wasn't "old enough to bleed, old enough to breed". The average has been midteens through early twenties. Hell, just because they "bleed" doesn't mean they're physically ready to give birth. Blame religion if you'd like, but religion has been around since long before "age of consent" laws and didn't try to change it before. I think no younger than sixteen sounds reasonable (Not that I'd go that young. The maturity and life goals are or should be vastly different.). Edit: These laws are in place for the protection of the minor. To say "all they need is to be educated" is beyond stupid.

Age of consent has gone up in the states even from the 80s. Used to be 12 in Delaware, 13 in New Mexico, 14 in Georgia and a few other states. Now 16 or 18 everywhere. Was even lower further back.I've been watching age of consent laws since I turned 18.
