No, it isn't. It isn't just a dating site, it is a social site. On our profiles it states whether we like females, males, or have no preference so it stays pretty clear. I have a male on my friend list and i'm very much heterosexual.

To second that, no, it's not weird. This place is more like a forum with an otaku/dating dual purpose than a dating site with a forum, and even if it was the latter, there'd still be reasons for people to interact with those of their non-preferred sex (such as Relationship Advice or Serious Talk).
