@Tiger Festival: I didn't miss it. I ignored it simply because it was wrong. I didn't want to say anything, but...Muslims generally aren't in a state of war any more than Protestants are at war with the Roman Catholic church. Sure, they disagree with each other, but there is peaceful coexistence. Any strife between the two groups is due to extremists on both sides, but they do not reflect the general attitude these two groups of people have towards each other.
@loli_vampire: I like your writing. Let's be friends ^^

For some reason, I couldn't copy and paste it from Facebook, so I'll just leave the screencap here instead.

The part that made me sick to my stomach were all the twitter posts of people either celebrating or treating the shooting as some trivial thing since it was at a gay club. People can really be very heartless and cruel at times.

All these terror stuff make me want to tough up
and start wearing my body armor to work everyday again ...
I am for background checks and stuff tho...
I did one yesterday when I went to buy my bolt action rifle(Ruger American 22lr)...
I am gonna need to put on my FLAME suit now ...
because
"The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun"
and as cliche as it sound I personally feel that a trained law abiding citizen
(especially those with ties to law enforcement) could step it up a bit
to prevent incidents happening to "soft targets".

@Tiger Festival: That I will give you! That was a huge thing between the Sunni and Shia Muslims. But again, the belligerents are not representative of those two groups as a whole. Think like, back in the day how Catholics used to persecute Protestants. I suppose every religion has its own form of sectarian violence. But its important to recognize that not everyone is in the business of killing the other side. Some are okay with coexisting!
@markrodiguez: That's pretty messed up man =\ When are people going to realize that gay people have a right to life, liberty, and happiness just as anyone else? Such a slow process, acceptance and tolerance is.
@mrzsfo415: You're a bit out of your time here, aren't you? 180 years too late. I feel like people of your mentality belong in an old West film. You'd be the town sheriff, strutting around with your six-shooter, badge on your chest, cigar in mouth.
Although I do think that firearm skills have a place (ie for sport and for the appropriate professions), their usefulness is limited. How many times have you been confronted with the "hero" situation you're thinking of, in your everyday life? The chances of it happening are slim; and even if it does occur and you might be able to stop the bad guy, there is no guarantee that you wouldn't succumb to the stress of the situation and make a mistake. Combat is one of those things that you need the real thing to happen in order for you to get accustomed to it.
Point is, its much easier to take the guns out of every private citizens hands, thus reducing the potential for gun violence, instead of gambling on vigilante help. Besides, police and security forces fulfill the function of protecting soft targets. Only they should be allowed to carry firearms, when appropriate.

When did Christianity get reformed? I'm pretty sure there's still contemporary mass killings and atrocities done that use the excuse of the bible. And not even in third world countries (which I remember something from a couple of years ago about anti-Muslim Christian militias massacring villages and cannibalizing people because you know, bible) but also in the United States like the planned parenthood shooting from last year. Dude did it because his interpretation of the Christian bible demanded it.
There is no widely known organized religion that hasn't had people kill in its name. No matter the time. It's just another excuse for extremists to use. If it isn't religion, then it's politics, then it's socio-economic reasons, etc.

Neko, I have mixed feelings about Milo. One problem I have with him is his support of banning Muslims from entering certain countries. I do believe that if you completely banned Muslims from entering some country, you'd get less Islamic terrorist attacks.. However, in doing so you'd be trampling all over freedom of religion and be on your way to a slippery slope where all kinds of ideas could be banned. I'd rather have religious freedom and live with the consequences that there's an incredibly small(and I mean small) chance that I could be killed in a terrorist action. I'm a fan of fighting bad ideas with good ideas. Not banning anyone. And overall I find Milo entertaining. I completely disagree with him on some things such as genital mutilation, though.
