I just can't wrap my mind around how someone can shoot up a nightclub just because he saw 2 guys kissing... 50 people dead because he didn't like what he saw, wtf? and then I hear about this guy in New Mexico who shot and killed his wife, and 4 daughters.... I just don't understand the hate that would be needed to do such a horrible thing.
I don't understand the hate that man was feeling to justify killing people just because they are gay... why do people feel the need to do such things? who cares if someone is gay? it doesn't change your life one bit... I just don't get it... so sad...

It's terrible to hear all these shooting tragedies. Most recent I have heard of is Christina Grimmie being shot and killed at her own concert :(
I don't know what possesses them to think it's a good idea.

The only thing I've used a gun for target shooting I don't know how someone can kill another living person for just no good reason.

This is a copy and paste from my Facebook status :
The religion is not at fault, it's the individual. Blaming an entire religion for the fault of one individual or small group of individuals doesn't make sense.
Same thing with gun owners. It's the person, not the firearm. You cannot blame every single gun owner for the actions of an individual or group of individuals. It doesn't make sense.
The hypocrisy is rampant within both conservatives and liberals. I know and understand that many people were affected by this morning's shooting at Orlando, but I can't ignore the hypocrisy from both sides. It's disgusting.
Both sides make the same argument "it's the individual, not the (religion/firearm)." So why can't we just accept each other's argument that it's the individuals fault?
There. Easy peasy

Bleh, that's all so gross. So much stupidity and unnecessary suffering. </3
Sunbae, I only read one article about the mass shooting in Orlando and did a quick google search of Omar Mateen. But it does seem religion influenced him. According to NBC News,"Omar Mateen called 911 just before the shooting and pledged allegiance to ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi". Ideas have consequences. Obviously I'm not blaming all Muslims. I am blaming some of the ideas of Islam, though.
And the gun part, that's complicated. After the Paris terror attacks, it does seem that a lot of terrorists are realizing that guns are often more effective than bombs. So that's scary. I'd just say that there has to be some kind of limit to what kind of weapon a normal civilian can legally own. Clearly Joe Whatever shouldn't be allowed to purchase a nuclear war head. If you accept that much, where do we draw the line? I donno... And people will always find ways to purchase firearms illegally.
So ya, it's a messy and complicated situation that I don't really have any answers to. I agree it's the individual's fault. But I also think his ideas and beliefs influenced him. I don't see how those are mutually exclusive. I think it can be the fault of his brain(maybe he was just a psychopath), religious and other ideas he picked up, slack gun laws(not saying that was the case), ect. I wouldn't try and peg the blame on one thing as of yet. I guess we'll get a better picture as more facts roll in.
RIP to all those who died.

Oh I am definitely blaming his views on his religion. I'd be straight up wrong if I said that the main influence wasn't his religion. I'm just saying that it's what you bring and get out of the religion, not the religion itself. As for firearms, it was actually illegal for him to bring it there so..... there goes another gun law that was broken.
