I went with Aiden as an alias because it's a name for the same race as me.

You are all in for a real shocker... but my nickname when I was younger was... JESUS... It first came about when I first did Boy Scouts back in the days of yore over a decade ago, I wore a crucifix my grandmother gave me for Christmas, and people just went with it. For some reason it stuck even with people who I did not know through scouts through high school (though not as frequently). In drama when people played the game where you are supposed to guess who the person is on how they act and answer questions, people on two occasions gave me Jesus.

My real name actually sounds very much like a nickname, so people find it hard to believe when I say that it's not a nickname.
It really has no profound story behind it, but in some Chinese families, it's common to consult with baby names experts and have them assign or choose the name for your baby so they will have a long, prosperous, lucky, blah blah life, all the works. My name was chosen for me by my dad's baby name expert friend.
My MO nickname is just the Japanese translation of my real name plus my favorite color. I didn't want to overthink it when I first signed up and since I have no other online personas, this name meant a lot to me. It's like a baptism of sorts, haha! :D

Shi Yen, hen gao xing jian dao ni. :) I actually speak/understand Mandarin better than writing/reading it!
I was supposed to be named Shao or Xiao because I was really small as a baby, but then the first gift my mom received upon giving birth to me was a basket of apples! And apparently, it's gonna give me good luck forever, haha!
Was your name chosen by parents or a feng shui/baby names expert?

It's kind of a play on words (yes my name is a pun). Shi when spoken alone can mean a few things, such as the conjugation of "to be", but in my case, it's to lose. But when combined together with the accent of the Yen sound, it turns into only a downward accent, making it 10 (im technically the 9th child of my generation but we had one miscarriage). And Yen is a play one words that sound like the cantonese version of saying Human/Body and it's also an ancient/royal way of saying daughter. But, my "clan" came from China to Vietnam (hence my last name Duong). So it means peace.
Basically, my entire name is a pun no matter how you look at it.
Shi Yen (boatman dialect) = To lose peace
Shi Yen (Traditional) = 10th Daughter (even though I'm a guy)'
Shi Yen (The way it's supposed to mean) = To be at peace (it's supposed to mix in our origins form China but incorporates our new life in Vietnam..... even though I was born and raised in Hong Kong and only went to Vietnam once when I was 7 and once more when I was 16).
