Should Abortion be Legal?

Determining when a fetus is a "person" is a completely abstract concept and you could go by a huge number of variables. I agree with a time limit to prevent the death of the mother though. By the way, I think people should be allowed to do whatever they want to their own bodies and suicide should be legalized but you should avoid making a mess for the poor schmuck who has to clean you up. Education has a bigger effect on maturity than biology. We are obsessed with youth and rarely have concerns about basic survival so my impression is that most 20yr olds are still kids these days. Compared to early times in our history where life was tough, kids grew up fast and women were often getting married by 13 or 14 and popping out babies. As for the death penalty, there are way too many variables in crime to say that it has any serious effect. You think a murderer is happier about going to prison for life vs death penalty? If someone is ready to commit cold blooded murder, I doubt the give a shit about anything.

I agree with Sunbae, if a child won't get the love and care they need from their parent(s), it's worse than beign dead. Even if adoption us an option, don't forget there are mean parents that don't give their children to adoption and continue destroying their lives. And don't forget about the child, don't you think it won't bug them the fact that they were born unwanted? That parents sent him to adoption? Even if the child had the most great parents in the world and bright future, we're still sensitive creatures. About the new Isaac Newton thing, do you really think it's necessary to have "fantastic wonder people" in our world? Every person can be great if they have the will and using that an excuse is way too fanatic. At the end our planet will be destroyed and nothing will be left. Do whatever you want in your life, if you will become a historical figure, bravo to you.

I believe that the 18 age is when the brain stops developing physically. By this, they don't mean like education. They mean intrinsic problem solving ability or more commonly known, IQ rating. The thing about variables is, is that they're there. That's the beauty of it. I don't think suicide should be legal unless you have a terminal disease. I 100% support funding a government run program for mental health. Like think of all the crime that won't occur if we just put money into promoting mental health. I'm pro choice because it reduces crime. It's deemed an individual because it can, with equipment, survive without the mother. If the argument that a fetus is not an individual because it can't naturally survive without it's mother, then technically, children (includes infants, toddlers, and probably elementary school kids), aren't deemed as individuals by the same argument. Because well, they can't take care of themselves. So by that argument, until nonindividuals can provide for themselves, they're not individuals. I think 12 weeks is fair. That's a lot of time and you'll more than know you're pregnant by that time. As for the happier vs life or death. I really don't know. That's something that I can't measure without doubting myself. Sorry that I can't provide a definite answer to that. But I'm going off of extreme violent crimes of death penalty states vs. non death penalty states.

I get maybe getting an abortion for something like rape but what i dont understand is your gonna go out there have sex and do adult stuff but when the responsibilities that come with said adult actions hit you. Then you wanna abort i dont think thats fair to the unborn baby. Its not its fault you were being stupid cause you hear a guy going "omg it doesnt feel right with a condom" and even if you did use a condom and it still happened shouldnt have had sex in the first place But with rape victims its understandable cause they didnt ask for that. And its cruel to make them go through with it

I hope whoever raped you was fully prosecuted to the harshest degree of law and I'm glad you got the treatment necessary. @Panda I honestly don't give a shit about the parents. I'm 100% thinking of the child. Why should an innocent child have to live a shitty life because two dumbasses fucked up? Will that child grow up happily with all the love he deserves? Will he grow up to be the person he really wanted to be? Would he want to live a shitty life and end up either in the streets or behind bars? I don't give a shit about the parents. It's about the child. Sorry to say it, but it makes no sense. Unless they were raped of course, then I have no response to that.
