My art I lost

Heyhey u were in third grade, it's fine. In 3rd grade, i was literally shoving a paper on top of the tv screen tracing while cardcaptors or sailor moon was on. It helps u inspire your art and the more u get inspired by different things, the more u develop and slowly build ur own style. :P Heck people need references all the time, u can't think of stuff straight out of ur head unless ur genius. I need references, and all my animation peeps do also. So don't feel bad, art is literally copying and learning from ur predecessors but evolving it ya feel? The anime is shirobako. :3

Being an artist is worth the struggle. You go, copy whoever you find like admiring, then you'll have your own style sooner than you think. This happens a lot in everything in real life. Actually since my career is also related a lot to art, you can say, when you're designing buildings, some curves, some straight lines are really studied to get a harmony so perfect it's impossible to not find the correct proportions or inspiration on someone else's work. Normally, for a well developed architect, they inspire in nature because the golden ratio is perfect just there... Or in the Egipt pyramids. Anyway, this applies to artists too, me being an artist and growing up trying to find my own style, I've copied disney styles to manga styles and even the faces of real people. Then as you grow and study your own techniques you'll find which is easier for you to represent on paper, then, magically, your own style starts to appear. Take it easy, you'll get there.
