Watching silly raccoon videos is always better than sleeping.

Praying my cooking career takes off! Nothing makes me more happier than when I cook up a meal for someone who really needs it seeing them smile enjoying it

For the year and a half i have lived here, i have come to hate Alaska. The expensive housing, food, entertainment. The shoveling inces upon inches of snow almost every day, the military base is shit, the coworkers are shit. Had i known what awaited me here i would have cancelled my orders. The grass is never greener on the other side. Infact it might just be a large trash heap.

@hell_hound7 You might like it better here, but I could be wrong. https://youtu.be/VKRPUhTQP_o?si=Jq3C5GvnViBWhoAD

Meh... My brother was once in Alaska many years ago and was recently up for a promotion to CMSGT. Point being, ya don't know yet where your path may lead. Good or bad, it will be a very important piece that helps make your future self.

Oh yeah it definitely helped shape me XD i have most definitely matured since being here. Rather than expecting to finish out my entire military career now im basically speedrunning my bachelor's degree. Starting In January i will be working myself up to fulltime student. Just got an A in my Geology class this term, currently on Dean's list. Yeah im gonna leave this hell hole for sure. Being here has put the perspective in my head that our government and military leaders dont care about people like me. Anywhere from living on base and watching the officers get priority on the snow plowed from their streets and driveways. While all the people my rank get stuck and have to oush our cars. Or watching my raise go from a couple hundred dollars per month and officers go to upwards of 10k. This disparity and unequal treatment of people who are literally the same just you went to college and i didnt (sometimes even thats not true because we have people with master degrees who still dont have that privilege) why must i have to work 3x as hard and essentially make the equivalent of minimum wage in an area where i need at least 3 more jobs to even survive. But yeah i get it, i did volunteer and no one forced me. Thats why im gonna voluntarily separate.

@meiserman1985 see i would love to stay in certain parts of the US. But what kind of makes me hesitant is my skin color. Im not welcome in some parts of the US and therefore i know i dont need to go there. Anything in the middle of the US is an automatic no. Its honestly a struggle because im looking for a place thats pro self defense and gun rights but not pro-lynching if you catch my drift. Its hard because alot of the really nice places obviously other people know about and so they go there and then drive up prices.

@hell_hound7 Here in NH is pretty nice. No race issues that I am aware of. Guns and self defense are of the highest of freedoms as we have no license needed for conceal carry. As far as buying one, I can get a new one in 15 minutes. Chances are you don't even really need one since we have some of the lowest violent crime rates in the country. No sales tax, no income tax. The issues are that property and rent are fairly expensive. If you stay around the state capital or far north then it gets better, but still looking at 1,100 in rent alone for a single bedroom apartment there. Also vehicle registration is expensive compared to other states with a new SUV costing upwards of 500 for a single year.

The days following Christmas are mine. They do not belong to my job, they do not belong to my husband or family, they are mine. I have no idea what I'm going to do with them, but they are mine. https://i.pinimg.com/originals/48/72/59/487259006ebb768d17f7ec4497969876.gif
