@toritori oh shit really? Jolly Roger or whoever actually left his fortune? offtopic but i gotta say, good for one piece to STILL be going on and STILL be topping the popularity charts in shonen jump. I know i gotta get into it but man those chapters are daunting.

@momoichi Ok, first of all, "Jolly Roger" made me laugh xD His name is Gol D Roger btw. There's a lot of theories on what the One Piece actually is, but when you add up all the specifics throughout the series, it's hard to deny one of these ideas in particular... I don't remember what arc or episodes Silver Rayleigh shows up, who was Gol D Roger's top commander, so anyone that hasn't seen up to his appearance, then what I'm gonna say will have some spoilers: 1. There's a period in history called the Void Century, which is a 100 year period with zero record of the details of what happened around 700 years (?) before the start of the series 2. It's been stated that the secrets of what occurred during the Void Century (this is when the Great War happened, and the extinction of a race that had wings) would cause a massive disturbance in the world SPOILERS 3. Before Whitebeard was killed, he confirmed the One Piece is real and that it will cause a massive disturbance in the world 4. A man named Joy Boy is who left the One Piece on the last island in the Grand Line. This happened at some point during the Void Century. 5. Gol D Roger is the only pirate that made it to that final island, where he obviously found the One Piece. 4. Silver Rayleigh revealed that Gol D Roger learned what actually happened during the Void Century. So... we have the Void Century which is the biggest secret in the entire series. The truth of the Void Century will cause the world to pop off. The truth of the One Piece will cause the world to pop off. Gold D Roger found the One Piece AND knows the secrets of the Void Century. It's hard to write that off as coincidence. It still doesn't explain WHAT the One Piece is, but it seems rational to conclude it's something that leads to the secrets of the Void Century. And my own theory in addition to the above info is that all the Devil Fruit are the "extinct" race of winged people as a result of the Great War.
