That's a two-way street yaasshat. That's something I see missing from a lot of people here (and in general) as far as relationships are concerned. They act like by default the other person is expected to do all the work and make the effort to impress them. Never forget the other person is a human being with thoughts and feelings. And no one short of the desperate would willingly put in the genuine effort love and affection takes for someone who is not willing to do the same for them.

Love is very complex. Love takes time to form and it requires a strong bond since it is a very strong feeling. Love is wanting to do anything you can to make the people you care about happy. Love is patient. I can say that I definitely love my close friends with all heart and I'd do almost anything to make them smile! ^u^ love is selfless and kind. Love is to give someone the power to hurt you but, trusting them not to. I've been in love with people before and it was one-sided which ended up hurting a lot. T^T but yeah, love is too complex of an emotion to just be used without meaning.

Burning,
It sure is a two way street. One sided love is not a relationship.

The only things that really come to mind are, "warmth, safety, vulnerability, yearning, closeness". At any time I was actually in love it always felt like I was wrapped in my favorite blanket that just came out of the dryer and I was giddy about it, which always seems to irritate me.

If you love someone, to me, you give every aspect of yourself to that person. Good and bad. For example, say two people are in a relationship. One half truly does love the other, and is giving their 100% to the relationship. While the other says they "love" the other half, but has their doubts, or just has the notion of love based on a few things said or done. So technically, one person is willing to do anything and everything for the other. While the other, really isn't being fair or just doesn't realize that they aren't ready to give the relationship their all. So basically, I guess what I'm trying to say is, if you truly do love someone you have to give that person your "100%" so to speak. Otherwise it just isn't love.

For me love is when you put the needs of the one whos in your heart over your others, thats their smile is whats make you smile and their sadness make you sad and wanting to help them, to comfort them. You feel warm when they are near and happpy when they just talk about the simplest things with them. Time with them is like always flying by and never enough. Love is willing to sacrafice and to take risks you never took before, its when supporting your partner is not an helpfull deed but your honorable duty you want to fullfill again and again. Its when the safest and warmest place is in the arms of your love and and your heart is completely at easy every bit of worry gone.
Love its about acceptance...that the quirks, the flaws or the handicaps, that others see as a hindrance are the things that define the Person your heart as chosen and are like not existing in your eyes.

Such a VERY complex subject. IMO love is a choice and commitment through all the good and bad. I'm not saying feelings aren't involved at all, however feelings are only the surface of true love and commitment. In relationships I have been in sometimes the feelings aren't there from a "falling in love, butterflies in the stomach" etc. But it is a deep, quiet connection that sometimes has nothing to do with feelings. I absolutely am not saying that we shouldn't have feelings about someone but do not completely rely on the "feeling" of being "in Love". It is much deeper than that.

Unfortunately I do not know what it is like to be loved romantically. xc The only relationship I've ever been in was completely one-sided and fake. I understand that it has to be a two-way street otherwise it doesn't really work
