Letting go of someone you love.

sherflow
I find it harder to let go of friendships than with love, with love I usually convince myself they are better off without me in their lives.

I've never had that issue with friends since I'm so low maintenance and I'm an introvert. Once I'm a friend, I'm always there and you have to mess up pretty badly to lose me. This relationship though, I wouldn't say she's better off without me. It's like she needs me. There is nothing wrong with feeling needed but I'd rather feel wanted. I don't want to be a permanent crutch, I want the relationship that achieves things together.

Its nice to see I'm not alone lol. If your gut tells you it wont work in the long-run, the quick answer is don't let it drag on any further. The longer you let it, the more it will hurt you after. However, I highly recommend letting the other person know how you feel before you act. Otherwise you may regret making a premature decision. But keep in mind that people will promise almost anything to avoid discomfort. It's a proven fact that humans will go further out of their way to avoid pain, than to receive a chance for pleasure. As far as getting over it, what worked for me was to immerse myself in hobbies. Going out with my friends to chase tramps wasn't making me happy. So since then I've started playing a musical instrument, drawing, watching anime again, & fencing. The only way to heal is time, but you need to occupy yourself or you will cave in. And you don't want to cave in when you're in that vulnerable emotional state. I had a gf for most of college, took me 2-3 years to get over it!! Just be you. Hope this helps someone =D.
