@Elder You've got some great points there! I like the way you discuss things ^^ One question though. Anorexia is considered a mental disease, however you could say that they decide to not eat too. They decide to throw up. They make all the dicisions only the opposite way of obese people. Do you look at people with anorexia the same as people with weight issues?

@Dagger I explicitly said I don't think sexuality is a choice. You do however make the decision to show it in public or not. If this was not the case, the phrase 'I'm still in the closet' would simply not exist. It's sad that some people still need to hide it

>Do you look at people with anorexia the same as people with weight issues? First off, its not weight issues. Lets not mince words here. Its obesity. And to answer your question, no. Anorexia is a mental disorder, as is bulimia. But obesity is a choice. The complications of it are medical conditions, but those came about because of a choice, or a series of choices made.

What makes you think that in extreme cases of obesity mental health doesn't play a role? All kinds of eating disorders go together with wrong self-images or mental problems. What makes obesity a choice and anorexia a mental disorder? This does not in any way display my opinion, btw. It's just kind of a grey area when it comes to diseases/disorders, is what I'm saying

Hah! Way to funny! Yeah, people just simply choose to be fat... Yeah...makes sense.. Nothing...ABSOLUTELY NOTHING MENTALLY CAN INFLUENCE ONE TO MAKE POOR LIFE CHOICES....Yeah... Just people with anorexia. (Note* Not all fat people have something wrong, some literally are just to weak and lazy... But, that's not to say there's no hope.).

@yaasshat I try to get the point across that this is just really not black and white in the first place. With some people the decision to starve themselves is not anorexia, but just called diet. On the other end, some people are indeed just lazy and fat. This does however not mean that there aren't people who really have something mentally wrong with them causing them to eat extremely more or extremely less than the average human being

By the way, when did 'sexy pics' turn into 'people with bad eating habits' xD

>What makes you think that in extreme cases of obesity mental health doesn't play a role? You make the mistake of thinking that mental illness excuses people from their actions. It does not. I suffer from two mental illnesses: Clinical depression and autism-spectrum disorder. But you don't see me bring it up in regular conversation because I don't need/want/necessitate special treatment. Many members of my family are mentally ill, and I take letting them make excuses as being enablers. >Nothing...ABSOLUTELY NOTHING MENTALLY CAN INFLUENCE ONE TO MAKE POOR LIFE CHOICES The difference is that anorexia is a specific subset domain of being underweight. Obesity is a wide categorical domain. And I just said above that while it can influence it, that doesn't excuse their actions. I get depressed some days I don't even want to get up. But I get my ass up day after day and go to work and do adult things because I don't let it get the best of me. I could be a child and be like "Oh muh mental disorders! I'm gonna go on disability and just not work and sit at home eating Cheetos all day!" but that would accomplish nothing. I don't do that shit. If I can do it, anyone can. Because i had a fuckton of stupid shit happen in my life, much of it traumatic, and I still get up and do normal things like normal people every day.

EVERY where reaper goes, conflict seems to follow. What can I say? He has a gift. Some day I hope to master that... That's not saying it's not a choice at the end of the day... See? I too understand. Also, I absolutely agree that it's not all just a lazy choice and I more than realize depression(amongst other medical issues) can play a major impact on CHOICES and how the body deals with the crap you eat.
