It isn't as easy as it sounds tbh, the owner of this site obviously knows things such as html / css / etc. but may have to learn completely new languages such as objective c and other compiling languages, cocoa touch, and I think you have to have a mac along with xcode as well as getting the app actually approved by the app store (don't quote me on this).

Yeah I know
But I think what is being said in their own way is it would be nice if there was one & people would get it if available
Atleast that's what I'm saying in my own way

It would definitely make this site more popular. More users for everyone to meet. It would just keep growing from there.

@surprise.
Apple isn't the friendliest towards developers, indeed. However, you don't require knowledge of Objective-C to create an Iphone app, that's what Xamarin is for.

Once you understand OOP, picking up a new language isn't too difficult, easier if you know a language like Python or Java for example, what you usually end up learning is syntax differences, frameworks, API etc.
The main issues are generally just time if doing it solo, or money if getting someone else to do it.

This site is RUBY on Rails, and doesn't even have an API that can be exposed.
In order to create a mobile app, you'd have to modify the site to a standard API, expose that API in a safe and secure fashion, and then program in Java on Android. Sorry guys on iPhones, but your platform is essentially a closed platform, and it makes it hard for people to create content on it. He would have to effectively rewrite the application in ObjC to make it work. And yes, there's metacompilers for C and C++ for both platforms, but that doesn't solve everything.
People only on mobile, dunno what to tell you except you have to live with what you're given. I've offered more than a few times to help with creating an API, but again my programming style is more procedural/function oriented and sacrifices speed for security.

I agree a mobile app would be nice. I use Windows Phone though, so I'd be the odd one out as our install base SUCKS.
