School dress codes?

chiefmoonsmile
My school never enforced any sort of dress code for guys. By the time I was walking out, they started trying to enforce one for the girls. There were, however, some older members of the community that became vocal about some of the things kids would wear - mostly all black clothing. Even so, you never really saw anyone wearing (or not wearing) anything crazy on the regular.

@xynox: Gotta wear comically long shirts to hide the revealing aspects of jeggings. But it's cool, I linked that purely for entertainment purposes. I got nothing against a person who wants to feel comfortable and/or attractive. :]

At Venezuela all schools have dress codes. I have always studied in private institutions so they used to care more about the uniforms than anything else. Here are some examples of the uniforms I wore: In preschool: http://www.monografias.com/trabajos100/analisis-financiero-empresa-textil-venezuela/image007.png In middle school I had one similar to this: http://litbimg.rightinthebox.com/images/384x384/201211/yssaay1354089075943.jpg Then this also in middle school and adding the black skirt with black shoes and white high socks: http://g02.s.alicdn.com/kf/HTB1RQgbFVXXXXc4XXXXq6xXFXXXZ/200469694/HTB1RQgbFVXXXXc4XXXXq6xXFXXXZ.jpg Then this ugly thing before high school: http://mlv-s1-p.mlstatic.com/mujer-trajes-bano-284801-MLV20420667254_092015-Y.jpg And in high school this other ugly thing: https://encrypted-tbn3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQC4Kn9s_ZXzLDe4T0_kQHVQbWH_d8tdbXb07WuE9E_L2r963ltnw Uniforms changed as I changed schools though but, in Venezuela, most private and public schools forced you to wear the two last uniforms. The difference was in the logo and that in a private institution you got to choose skirts and sweaters to combine over it. Either way, the uniform style changed too with this government. Now in university there isn't really any dress code and if there is, nobody really cares about it.

I'm in the UK, and pretty much every school has a uniform here. Our rules were skirts had to reach the knee, I think five centimetres above the knee was the cut off, and they'd make you kneel on the floor so that they could measure it too. Shirts should be tucked in, your tie should be up to the throat and a sensible length. I think one or two inches was the maximum height of the heel you could have on your black shoes. No make-up until you got to GCSE, and even then strictly natural, and no nail varnish - ever. We had school issued fleeces while I was there too, but I hear they've swapped to blazers now, and now girls get V-neck fitted shirts, so they don't need to tuck in, and girls don't wear ties. Also, your hair could only be dyed natural colours.

The only dress codes I had were in elementary and middle school where it was jeans/khakis, knee length skirts and polos in the school colors. In high school, so long as it wasn't exposing a lot of skin and didn't promote drugs or gangs, you were good. And they weren't pick about hair color or style, or make up either. My hair went through a lot of colors in high school :p

I am so glad our school dress codes was anything but tank tops and mini skirts lol. Jeans and a t-shirt is all I need. xD

Lol, I thoroughly enjoyed all the scantily clad girls at my school.
