@Lunatic of strife Pelmeni? You took that picture out of wikipedia, so if yours are home made, I'm curious as to how they look. I love pelmeni too, though I don't eat it much these days; most of it is store-bought prefrozen, if that. That's what I miss about Russia. Moved out of there when I was 6, but before then my grandmother used to cook all of these awesome dishes. Blinchki, pelmeni (my favorite is with cabbage or something like that), cake, borscht, salad (mayo with meat and, pickles, etc), katleti, etc. As far as what I cook, it's very simple, nutritious, and functional. I never took the time to really learn to really cook (though I did dabble in it at some point; I did alright, but not amazing). What I do is just grab some rice (or quinoa, or lentils, whatever), put a cup in the rice cooker, 2 cups water, then some olive oil and seasoning (salt/pepper, garlic whatever), then some blackeyed peas, then some kale, then some more frozen veggies on top of that. Add some costco frozen salmon (about 3-4 portions; could be mahi mahi or whatever) on top of all of that and then just close the rice cooker and put it on "brown rice" mode. Technically the salmon gets a little overcooked. If I actually felt like it, I could stop take the salmon out a bit early and everything would come out much better. But whatever, it works. It's nutritious, healthy, and completely free of me having to mess with it. I just take the portions out and there's 2-3 days of food.

I'm actually planning on making some of Chef John's lobster mac and cheese with a sliced steak and some broccoli on the side later today. Something like this: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-T_Q0KXIfe1o/VNrvtyGY7LI/AAAAAAAAQ5c/nqnKlWGxmIw/IMG_5619.JPG http://www.coffeecorner.org/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/Image-2.jpg

Man, I miss Hotto Motto! When I was in Japan I used to eat there a lot, and they did this really nice chicken nam ban and a beef stew pot thing. It was great!

Today I made some asian curry, usually I make it without meat, but today I had some chicken that I didn't know what to do with. Still turned out great! http://i.imgur.com/Ndz9ys6.jpg http://i.imgur.com/gipko8K.jpg If anyone is interested in cooking something simple and tasty, make curry!
