What's the next big genre in anime?

I've read a decent bit of Silver Spoon. I did like it since it was in good taste. But admittedly it is a very casual series lol. Haven't seen the anime yet so I don't know how much they cover.

@ScarHead aka JoJo I like ecchi but as a genre,...well I would not complain. The suggestive potential has it kinda straddling the divide between PG-13 and "not safe for work" light hentai. I just don't know how it could get the momentum become an entire anime genre. Do you think ecchi can ever be more than a fan service add-on?

Anime with a PLOT ? Its a toss up but Maybe ... just maybe we will get something interesting ... because I remember watching Maison Ikkoku back in the day and it was basically an anime SitCom The most recent one being Hataraki Man...

@e_bon: I wouldn't see why "ecchi" as a genre. It would eliminate what anime contains more nude, or perverted situations. Ecchi does not describe actual sex acts. It would make it easier to tell what is ecchi vs fan-service. Fan-service refers to scenes designed to excite or titillate the viewer. This can include scantily-clad outfits, cleavage shots, panty shots, nude scenes (shower scenes especially), etc. Some broader definitions also include things like cool mecha, big explosions, battle scenes, etc. Basically, if it has little plot-redeaming value, but makes the viewer sit up and take notice, it's probably fan service in one form or another. Ecchi is more nude, where as fan-service is a variety of different aspects of entertainment. So, your really not sure what type of fan-service you'll get. Ecchi will make the genre of each anime easier to eliminate what you are into.
