Okami's poetry

The dark. My mommy says I have no fear. My daddy says be strong. I believe them, I love them so, But they couldn't be more wrong. When I traverse the milky dark, I see in the abyss. In agony I'm forced to look, In my ignorance, no bliss. The shadows seek to bleed my soul. Images locked in. I watch and see just what they are, As they tear deep into my skin. I know, I see, what's truly there. Although so unclear. It's not as easy, as it's sounds, To be rid of the pain of fear. I Again, gaze into darkness, See it as a whole. And deep inside, the terror comes, And then the fear engulfs my soul.

I really like your way with words, the last stanza of Play Date being one that stands out. Also, it's amazing that you can put simply being in darkness into such a descriptive poem. Two thumbs up.

Dreams of you. The cloudy ink of shadow's grip. Brings me deep into its hold. Clasping its hand with fingers barred, The final fragment of my prison. A shallow realization of what must be, The visions rush to form my cure. My greatest fears, nor the apocalypse true, Can compare to the imagery that now controls me. A gentle white streak against the inky black, The deliverance of saving grace. So bright against the contrast of the latter, And sweet music resonates inside my mind. The speech that now permeates the silence, Is the only sound I wish to hear. The wind that blows with sharp chill of blades, No longer passes through my form, In the grace of the brilliance of the majestic, Do the fears of the unknown finally fade. With my hand eclipsed by yours, The warmth of genuine compassion radiates. But how quickly such emotions turn to passion, As your smile takes my very breath away. Awestruck by not but a gentle hug, And I feel my heart race to keep me afloat. An inaudible whisper into my ear, Is all I require to clearly understand. I do recognize such emotions, though never felt, I do understand such riddles, though never seen. I do understand such mortality, although this is foreign I do understand such majesty, even though I never could. Though nightmare may be what currently comes. Our journeys leave trails, in a majestic portrait. And though this is only a dream, a glimpse of what's to be. I watch with whole heart for the day when the paint brushes meet.

*snaps fingers repeatedly. Awesome unrhymed poem. I had to read it twice to get it, but when I did, I realized it was a great story with thoughtful metaphors. I think I would have liked if the wording had a "faster pace" in the middle to lead up to a climax. But great work, as usual.
