I'm comfortable with both. I'll give you the long version, since that will probably give you the most insight into the whole situation. We met online, on a German dating platform. We chatted for about 3 weeks, before arranging a meeting in the fourth week. I work at a museum of an institute that researches biodiversity, it's huge and well known. Basically every school class around Frankfurt was there at least once. We went to meet at that museum. For me personally it was pretty much love at first sight as soon as she stepped out of the underground railway. She was tall and beautiful. We both were very fond of each other, and very shy. It was an awkward nerdy first date. We explored the museum as much as we could that day, but the time wasn't einough, because the museum closed early. We decided to meet again, to complete the tour. And we did. Our third date was in the Palmengarten, "palm tree garden" (basically a huge park in the middle of Frankfurt, very nice.) We had a wonderful day, and as we enjoyed the sunset together, we agreed to continue seeing each other exclusively. (Background story time) She lives a little bit outside of Frankfurt, so it was a little bit of a hassle with the trains, but nothing we couldn't manage. It's about a one and a half hour journey one way. She was also very busy with her work, so we could only meet on the weekends, pretty much. Which we did. I visited her, met her parents, everyone liked me. It was great. As great as it could be. I was so very happy, and so was my girlfriend. It went on like that. She would come over aswell, meet my mom. Everyone liked each other. How often does that happen? No "scary step parents", lol. Anyways, the next time I visited her again. It was a sleepover. And to answer your questions: Yes. And yes. We spent the time watching movies together, enjoying each others company, telling stories. Fun times. It went on like that. For 5 weeks we had a great time. Then suddenly one weekend she went on a short vacation in northern Germany with her parents. She told me she wouldn't take her phone with her, so she could relax properly. Thing is - she just blocked me on WhatsApp. I know the symptoms of that. And it held on, not only for the weekend, but until the end of the next week. I was worried sick, and what I got from her was a blatent lie. She would have had herself some more phone-less time. Hah. Anyways, I just let her have it. No comment. Afterwards I tried to arrange a date, but she would find and excuse. Every time. The first weekend she went to visit her best (girl) friend for a sleepover. I bought that. But afterwards she told me she "needed some time for herself, because it would be good for her to have noone else to care for". That was a bullshit excuse, since I am nowhere near someone who needed to be "cared for". Welp, I still gave her a week. And then another one. And then one more. But as I tried to get her back, she would only answer me with extremely short messages, not answer at all, or give me some annoyed emoji. I asked her if that was her way of breaking up. No answer... I gave it a couple more days. I was extremely frustrated, couldn't sleep. All that stuff. Then I decided that I wouldn't let her treat me like that anymore. I wrote her (yes, pretty much all communication was via WhatsApp) that I would break up, if she wouldn't start treating me differently, since I had done nothing to deserve that silent treatment. She just said "yeah, whatever" with again one of the annoyed emojis. And that was it then. No closure. No idea what the hell was going on. I tried to make her talk to me, but without success. All I got was some kind of silent treatment for 3-4 weeks, until I broke up. I'm still kind of devastated, since this whole "no closure" thing is very hard on me. I can barely sleep, because I can't help but think up scenarios of what could have lead her to treat me the way she did. And everything reminds me of her. At least lately it isn't that bad anymore.

I know what you mean Max. My longest and happiest relationship ended two months ago because her mother hated me and it's possible the once love of my life hates my guts because of her family.
