Because I can. I'm not against showing my picture per say, but I rather talk to someone first and get to know them. And I don't even know if this will get anywhere.

Some people who use sites like this to make new friends, suffer from social anxiety. Showing other people what you look like when you are not comfortable with yourself can be a big step. Maybe try to get to know some of the people here first and then they will reveal their tru nature :).

I use this site as a place to chill not for the whole "find a relationship aspect". That being said I do offer my facebook to people who ask for it via message.
