18+ website membership?

Well I'm 17 and really happy that I didn't have to be 18 to join, I personally absolutely hate it when a site does that. This is a dating site, why would you need to be 18 for it? Legal reasons? Well just try to find people your age, instead of limiting the options for younger people.

I mean, I think when you're 17 you think you have no options. But your adult life is just beginning. Getting out in real life is a great way to learn life lessons and experiences :)

Id say screw backlash and go for it cause I kinda can't help the feeling that maybe there should be 2 sites.... One for those under 21 and another for those who are over 21. Makes it kinda hard for the ones over 21 since majority of people on here are under 21. Sad to say but the ones under 21 don't know how to read, apparently, and come my way. I'm always like "you're 18 and I'm 32, do you not hear how wrong that is!?"

i think its fine as it is tbh what if your here to make friends and not date cause lets be honest this isnt a dating site anymore....it doesnt even feel like one now. if your looking for dating go to match or something cause this site doesnt quite work for finding a gf/bf i mean it isnt impossible to do so. i guess what im trying to say is this site doesnt feel like its exclusively for dating its more of a social site

We've been through this many times, honestly. The reason is because this is more of a social site than a dating site. The reasons it's labeled a dating site is a long story, but the fact is its a social site. The issue is the pedophiles who try and get the underage to do things. There were some safeguards put into place to somewhat prevent it as best as possible, but there are ways around it. Bottom line though is this will never be an 18+ site as much as a lot of us like it to be.

While I don't think underaged people should be prohibited from using this site I do believe that having the option to disable underaged users/ users over 18 from adding you or interacting with you, would be a great idea.
