And nowadays, Modern Art is losing its Meaning, rendering the sole point that makes it "Beautiful", moot. Oh well. My one-two line stances here are generally me being salty. When i throw a point, I calm down a bit and get more rational. I am not a fan of restricting Art, but damn, people must stop giving in to shitty Art without a concrete Meaning.

No problem. I, for one am always skeptical towards rampant tolerance and intolerance... hence why I share my shit here yolol

@manga_bird Like, create a fictional character. But make them as generic as possible. A middle sized white teen, with short brown hair and black eyes. Gentle and warm-hearted. He has no Meaning and Beauty to stand out amongst other characters. He is plain. Now, make that plainliness be his own Beauty and Meaning (in a long case scenario). It would be kinda absurd to consider he is a good character.

@nebelstern My personal tastes as far as the finest art has to go for the 19th century Expressionist and Realism style. Favorite painter being Ilya Repin. However I feel like 95% of modern art is nothing more than lazy garbage. Like a canvas splashed with a bunch of paint and it's supposed to represent "chaos" or some nonsense like that. I personally think it is a money laundering scheme. Somebody wants to transfer a large sum of money, so why not take 5 minutes to puke some random nonsense onto a canvas and have somebody "buy" the "art" and transfer the cash that way. Then the artist gets notoriety by having people using them as a manner in order to transfer millions of dollars and ends up having people commission them since apparently their work is worth millions.

@dyadka_yar I, for one allow the benefit of doubt for most. That is my weakness at times. I dislike Modern Art as it is today. In fact, I hate it with a passion and I think it's a waste in museum space. But before tolerance got rampant, at least it had Meaning.
