Good psychotic/gore/crazy anime?

Elfen Lied is a bloodbath, but kinda weak in the writing. If you're just looking for straight gore though it's right up your alley. If you want something more psychological, watch Madoka Magica. It doesn't really have any explicit gore, it's more about seeing how much the characters are being psychologically tormented with no escape from their terrible fate. So, yeah, if you've ever wanted to see 12-year-old girls slowly being mentally broken, look no further. I'll take any excuse to recommend it.
